Brook Haven Homeowners: We held our Special Election meeting July 13th in the Parkside Clubhouse – for minutes of the meeting please look here. With 36 of our 46 households represented, Mr. Sarath Puligundla was elected to the Board of Directors for a 2016-2019 term, and the proposed bylaws amendment was defeated. This resulted in a board consisting of Mr. David Amos (2014-2017), Mr. Tuan Vo (2015-2018) and Mr. Sarath Puligundla (2016-2019).
The new board and Mr. Jeff Garnett met on July 21st to discuss plans for moving forward with the business of the community. At that meeting, Mr. Vo agreed to resign his position on the Board so that we could continue to leverage the skills and relationships developed by Mr. Garnett over the past two years. With gratitude for his contributions during his time on the Board, Mr. Vo’s resignation was accepted by the Board. Mr. Amos and Mr. Puligundla then extended an offer to appoint Mr. Garnett to fill Mr. Vo’s 2015-2018 position on the Board, which Mr. Garnett accepted.
The 2016-2017 Brook Haven Board of Directors now consists of Mr. David Amos (2014-2017) as President, Mr. Sarath Puligundla (2016-2019) as Vice President, and Mr. Jeff Garnett (2015-2018) as Secretary.
Our discussions primarily focused on moving the community forward in an open and cooperative manner and dealing with several issues and initiatives. We have an opportunity to move forward with the Brook Haven Parking District initiative. We will continue to work with the County on installation of legal, enforceable street signs. We will be proposing plans for planting trees and creating “destinations” at our entrance and near the bike path connectors to improve our community spaces, while we initiate a consistent inspection approach to identify areas where homeowners need to conform to community guidelines.
Mr. Puligundla, Mr. Garnett and I look forward to working together for the upliftment of the entire community.
